Oetiker 1-Ear Clamps are intended for low pressure applications such as automotive, appliances, industrial machinery, underground irrigation systems, etc. They are specifically designed for mass production applications where inexpensive clamps are needed.
Oetiker has the ear with a "dimple". This simple design difference not only adds increased strength to the grip of the clamp, it also creates a spring-like action which permits the clamps to "breathe" without loosening. We also believe that the mechanical look of the Oetiker 1-Ear Clamp is superior to any other joint. Spotwelding techniques are not used and therefore the possibility of failure due to corrosion at the spot weld is eliminated.
