1940s 16 oz Glass Clorox Bottle with 2-12/16" Mouth (1943 - 1944)
8" tall and 2-3/4" wide amber / brown 16 oz. glass Clorox bottle with Clorox cap. The bottle has many engravings on it, all of which are bold raised lettering.
This bottle is 73+ years old according to the Clorox website, making it Vintage and just shy of Antique. It's a great collectible, especially in this particular bottle's excellent condition. Please view my pictures for more detail.
From 1940-1942, content identification is moved to the side and the threaded neck. Pint & quart size mouths measure 2-7/16" around.
From 1943-1944 Pint and quart size mouths increase to 2-12/16" around.

History:
Beginning in 1940, The Clorox Company began making Clorox bottles with threaded necks for screw tops, replacing the rubber stopper cork tops of the earlier bottles.
From 1940-1942, content identification is moved to the side and the threaded neck. Pint & quart size mouths measure 2-7/16" around.
From 1943-1944 Pint and quart size mouths increase to 2-12/16" around.
In 1945 Grained texture was added on the shoulder and heel, and until 1951, the lettering on Clorox bottles continued to be raised and solid. Beginning in 1951 the lettering on Clorox bottles changed to outline.
