In the FRP industry, nonwovens are used for surface protection and as core material in products such as pipes, tanks, container boards, facade panels, skis, surfboards, boats and rotor blades for wind power stations.

Surfacing nonwovens improve the resistance to both corrosion and abrasion defects. Core materials are used to reduce the weight and to increase the mechanical strength. This saves money while increasing the properties of the materials.

Viledon® core material was developed specifically for the production of lightweight FRP parts such as boat bodies, machine housings, car body parts, or facing elements in the building industry. With Viledon® core material the required wall thickness can be constructed easily and quickly.

Viledon® core material is easily impregnable with all commercially available resins. Viledon® core material is also easy to work with in the hand lay-up and fiber spraying processes.
