Asir Sensor System Description:
The Muller Martini Asir Control System is a visual system directly integrated into the machine control for product and quality control for saddle stitchers and gathering machines. It monitors the setup of the products and prevents that incorrectly inserted signatures are processed further.
Function:
Reference Phase:
When reference phase is triggered, the Asir sensor switches into bar code mode. It then automatically looks for a bar code on the first signature that passes by. If it finds one, the bar code value is saved as a reference value and transmitted to the AsirCom PC. The AsirCom PC controls correct setup of the machine (completeness and sequence). If no bar code is found, the sensor switches independently into image comparison mode and saves a section of the signature image as a reference image. Active reference phase is indicated by a blinking control lamp on the front panel of the feeder control panel. If the reference phase is concluded, the control lamp will remain switched on continuously and incorrect signature detection will be enabled.
Comparison Phase:
Every signature that is picked up will be compared with the reference saved in the Asir sensor; if differences are found, the error message will be generated and transmitted to the machine control.
